Account deletion
This page explains how to request deletion of your 1booq account and the associated personal data.

How to delete your account
- Open the 1booq app (or visit https://www.1booq.com) and sign in with your registered email and password.
- Open Settings on the web, or your Profile in the mobile app.
- Find the account-deletion controls — the Danger zone on the web, or the Account & data section on mobile.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Review the pre-flight checklist — the app will tell you if you have unresolved obligations that need to be settled before deletion can proceed (for example, active provider subscriptions, outstanding balances, or providers you own that need to be transferred or closed first).
- Confirm the deletion as prompted — on the web you type a confirmation phrase; in the mobile app you confirm in a dialog.
- Your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this time you can still sign in, but the app is limited to a single action — cancelling the deletion. Cancel anytime before the grace period ends (right in the app, web or mobile) to keep your account. After the grace period, your account is anonymized: your personal identifiers are permanently deleted or irreversibly anonymized, and only the legally mandated data listed below is retained — in a form that can no longer be linked to you.
If you cannot access your account (for example, because you forgot the password and the recovery email is no longer valid), email support@1booq.com from the email address registered on the account with the subject "Account deletion request" — we will verify your identity and process the deletion manually.
What data is deleted
When you complete the account deletion process:
- Your name, email address, profile picture, phone number, and any other personal identifiers are permanently removed or irreversibly anonymized.
- Your push notification tokens, your 2FA settings, and your AI assistant conversations are deleted.
- Your authentication credentials (password hash, refresh tokens) are revoked immediately when you initiate the deletion.
What data is retained, and why
Some data must be retained for legal or operational reasons even after account deletion. Your personal identifiers are removed (your account is anonymized), but the records may remain in a form that can no longer be linked to you:
- Your bookings and the messages exchanged with the other party are retained because of the other party's legitimate interest, dispute handling, and auditability, with your personal identifiers removed (your profile becomes an anonymized "tombstone"). This keeps the other party's own booking/message history intelligible to them.
- Anonymized booking and billing records are retained in line with bookkeeping and tax obligations for 8 years under the Hungarian Accounting Act (Act C of 2000, § 169). Your personal identifiers are removed; only a transaction shell that cannot be linked to you remains.
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics (such as platform usage counts) may be retained indefinitely — these contain no information that can be linked back to you.
- Audit logs of security-relevant events (logins, password changes, deletion requests themselves) are retained for up to 12 months to satisfy security-incident investigation requirements.
